Why do we still do performances like this?
Covid is not over, but that's not the only reason why we conduct performance in this way.
Our ethos is to embed disability justice into our practices which mean that continue to find different ways to offer entertainment to those who are rarely thought of. As we're in severe M.E. week, we've learnt from our peers how others consume entertainment. Some people can't always watch video, therefore we create The Passion Project Radio.
Some people can't always listen to audio, therefore we provide transcripts for people to follow along.
Others people can't consume an hour long performance so we record our performances for you to watch/listen to in your own time.
It's not a perfect solution and we're always looking at creative ways to provide entertainment/education to you all. But it's possible. It's always possible.
P.S. My favourite example is watching a theatre show with MULTIPLE people and it was such a lovely watch. It requires practice to get the timing right and testing the wifi.
Anything is possible.
